VN attaches importance to Tanzania

VGP – Viet Nam attaches great importance to its relations with Tanzania, one of the country’s priority partners in Africa, Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh said on October 11 in Ha Noi.

Ms. Thinh made the point while receiving Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Augustine Mahiga. 

The host leader expressed her pleasure at the profitable bilateral political cooperation in the party, government, and national assembly channels which have created favorable and solid foundations for the two sides to promote linkages in economics, trade, and investment and in other spheres.

She also suggested the two countries boost trade and investment relations in order to raise two-way trade turnover to US$1 billion USD the near future, as agreed by their leaders, while expanding partnerships in such areas as agriculture, telecommunications, and consumer goods production.  

For his part, Augustine Mahiga highlighted the time-honored cooperative ties between Viet Nam and Tanzania. 

The guest leader expressed his admiration for Viet Nam’s socio-economic achievements. 

Viet Nam is a exemplary model for Tanzania during its process of national development. 

Tanzania supports Viet Nam’s run for a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for 2020-2021, he pledged./.
