When asked about Viet Nam’s response to China installing 4G coverage in the Hoang Sa archipelago, Mr. Binh asserted that Viet Nam has indisputable sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spartly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagoes.

Any activities launched in the area by other countries without Viet Nam’s permission and agreement are wrong and valueless, he added.

Regarding the Philippines’s recent news articles conveying the country’s wish to elevate its relationship with Viet Nam to a strategic partnership this year, Mr. Binh affirmed that in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, development, multilateralisation, diversification, and intensive international integration, Viet Nam attaches importance to promoting relations with its partners for the sake of Vietnamese people and partners for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Asia-Pacific, including the relations with its neighboring countries and other nations in ASEAN.

Viet Nam consistently follows the diplomatic policy in the relationship with the Philippines, he said, adding that the cooperative relations between Viet Nam and the Philippines will make active contributions to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific.
