Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang on January 22 replied the media regarding Viet Nam’s viewpoints following to deep concerns raised by the US and the Philippines on China’s upgrade activities in the East Sea.

Viet Nam required China to immediately terminate the upgrading and construction of projects that damage or destroy the status quo of Truong Sa archipelago and not repeat similar erroneous activities, she added.

She reiterated that Viet Nam has sufficient legal and historical evidence affirming its sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.
