VN and Laos strengthen economic, cultural and education cooperation

VNGOVNet – The agreement between the two Parties and governments of Vietnam and Laos is to promote bilateral relations to a new height by boosting economic and cultural cooperation and educating younger generations of the two countries on the special Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship which have been cultivated by generations of the two countries' leaders.

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng said so while receiving Mr. Khamsing Sayakone, Chair of the Laos National Assembly Committee for Economy, Planning and Finance on January 04.

In the reception, Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng stressed the importance of furthering the exchange and cooperation between the two legislatures - the most powerful bodies representing the peoples’ will, aspiration and interests.

Mr. Khamsing Sayakone expressed his hope that in the time to come, the two NAs' committees will further exchange of visits and experience to deepen the bilateral ties between the two legislatures as well as those between the two Parties and two States.

Previously, the delegation of the Lao NA Committee for Economy, Planning and Finance had held talks with the delegation of the Vietnamese NA Economic and Budgeting Committee.

During their stay in Vietnam from January 03-10, 2007, the Lao delegation will have working sessions with NA deputies from Hanoi, Hồ Chí Minh City, Quảng Ninh and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Provinces.
