VN: an important gateway to ASEAN for RoK investors

VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng made the emphasis while receiving the Republic of Korea's Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Kim Young-ju and his entourage on July 2 in Hà Nội.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that the RoK is now the biggest investor in Việt Nam, with around 1,500 projects worth of over US$ 10 billion. The two-way trade turnover is increasing by 15-20 percent annually, reaching US$ 5 billion. Most of the RoK businesses have done successful and long-term investments in Việt Nam. The Government leader made the confirmation that Việt Nam always provides favorable conditions for foreign investors which are treated as equally as Vietnamese businesses.

In this Vietnam tour, Minister Kim Young-Ju was accompanied by many leading businesses and economic groups in the fields of energy (thermoelectricity, nuclear electricity, oil refining), infrastructure (railway, seaport) and other essential industries. Mr. Kim Young-Ju said that most of the RoK enterprises attach importance to Việt Nam as an attractive investment destination with great economic potentialities.

Mr. Kim Young-Ju expected that the two countries will continue to deepen their traditional friendship and facilitate the long-term operation of the business communities.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly appreciated the RoK businesses' attention to Việt Nam. He affirmed that Việt Nam will facilitate the RoK's big projects and function as an important gateway for the RoK investors to ASEAN nations.
