Vinh Long’s Binh Minh town completes new-style rural building tasks

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has signed Decision No. 249/QD-TTG recognizing that Binh Minh town in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long has successfully completed its new-style rural area building tasks.

Binh Minh town, established pursuant to Resolution No. 89/NQ-CP dated December 28, 2012, is among Vinh Long’s eight district-level localities with an area of more than 9,360 hectares.

It comprises eight administrative units, including three wards of Cai Von, Thanh Phuoc and Dong Thuan, and five communes of Thuan An, Dong Binh, My Hoa, Dong Thanh and Dong Thanh.

Binh Minh town serves as a satellite city of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, possessing favorable traffic conditions for exchanges and development cooperation.

Up to now, all of its five communes have already met the criteria for a new-style rural commune, with the total resources mobilized for the rural building tasks reaching approximately VND882 billion (US$38.7 million).
