Addressing the launching ceremony, ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh applauded the establishment as contributing to connecting young Vietnamese in the European country towards the homeland.
He stressed that the young generation is the country’s future, a bridge connecting Viet Nam and Switzerland and the world, bringing the country to an advanced integrated development phase.
He noted that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the country’s establishment and the 40th anniversary of national reunification and urged the young people to promote patriotism.
On this occasion, friendly football matches among youth teams from Geneva, Zurich and Lausanne took place.
According to Luong Vinh Toan, a member of the association’s standing committee, young Vietnamese in Lausanne, Geneva and Zurich have had numeour activities, including supporting disadvantaged patients in Viet Nam, organizing cultural days and many other charity activities, contributing to unity of Vietnamese in the host country.
The association aims to gather and unite Vietnamese students studying in different states of Switzerland, better promote their capacity and knowledge and create favorable conditions for studying, collaboration and information exchange among members, contributing to promoting Vietnamese culture in both the host country and the motherland.
