Vietnamese leaders extend condolence on Suharto’s death

On the same day, answering reporters’ question about Việt Nam’s response to President Suharto’s death on January 27, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lê Dũng said, “We would like to convey deep sympathy to the family of President Suharto, the Indonesian Government and people. During his Presidency, he guided the Indonesian people to make various achievements in national construction and development, maintain and promote traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Indonesia and Việt Nam as well as the development of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations”.
