Vietnamese laborers mainly work in Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Middle East, US, Canada, Czech, and Australia. In the Republic of Korea only, up to June 18, 4,323 Vietnamese laborers were recruited, 3,879 among which have left the homeland.
Foreign employers all highly value Vietnamese laborers for their quality and industriousness.
Mr. Đào Công Hải, Deputy Head of the Bureau for Laborers Abroad, revealed that the MOLWISA has complied and submitted to the Government many legal documents to instructing the implementation of the Law on Vietnamese laborers working abroad under contracts. It is estimated that, up to the date of entry into force of this Law (July 01, 2007), the Government, MOLWISA and relevant ministries and sectors will issue 11 instructive documents, including a Decree providing detailed instructions to the realization of the Law; Decree on punishments against administrative violations in organizing laborers to work abroad, a PM's decision on the fund for Vietnamese laborers working abroad, and joint circulars instructing the observation of stipulations on fee collection, deposit, guarantee etc. These documents will create a solid legal foundation to protect legal interests and opportunities of laborers working abroad.
To the end of this year, the Bureau will sign cooperation agreements on labor export with Libya and the United Arab Emirates.
