Vietnamese film wins Silk Road int’l film festival

VGP - Viet Nam’s “Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh” (Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass) was among the three winners of the Features Films of 2015 awards at the 2nd Silk Road International Film Festival, which concluded Sunday in the southeast Chinese province of Fujian.

Yellow Flowers on Green Grass is scheduled to premier in Viet Nam on October 2
Besides "Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass" from Viet Nam, the award of Features Films of 2015 went to two other movies, including "Saving Mr Wu" and Russian movie "Puppet Syndrome."

The movie, directed by Vietnamese American filmmaker and screenwriter Victor Vu, is adapted from a best-selling novel by author Nguyen Nhat Anh.

The novel tells the context of a Vietnamese village in 1980s with the childhood of two brothers Thieu and Tuong.

Yellow Flowers on Green Grass is scheduled to premier in Viet Nam on October 2./.
