Viet Nam thanks Japan for valuable assistance in COVID-19 fight

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed sincere thanks to the Government and people of Japan for their valuable assistance for Viet Nam’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, during his reception for Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio on Friday.

As the pandemic is still evolving rapidly and complicatedly, the Government chief called on Japan to continue providing assistance, sharing vaccines and accelerating transfer of vaccine and drug production technologies to the Southeast Asian country.

Pham expects both countries will work closely to enhance contacts and delegation exchanges in a bid to further deepen the extensive Viet Nam-Japan strategic partnership in the new context.

The Government of Viet Nam will continue standing side by side with, and taking all possible measures to help foreign nationals and businesses, including Japanese ones to overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and maintain production and supply chain in the country, the PM affirmed.

He also took the occasion to congratulate the Government and people of Japan on the success of the Olympic Tokyo 2020.

Ambassador Yamada spoke highly of the Vietnamese Government’s high determination and efforts in pursuing the dual goal of COVID-19 containment and economic recovery.

Yamada affirmed that the Japanese Government will provide multi-faceted assistance for Viet Nam in the current situation.

The diplomat appreciated the Government’s efforts to unlock barriers for foreign businesses, including those from Japan./.
