Viet Nam confirms 132 new COVID-19 cases on Friday

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 132 new COVID-19 infection cases on Friday, raising the national caseload to 4,941.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from May 1-21

The latest patients include one imported case brought home from Malaysia on May 6.

The others are local infections recorded in Bac Giang (99), Bac Ninh (14), Dien Bien (seven), Hai Duong (three), Hung Yen (two), Ha Noi (one), and Da Nang (two), Lang Son (one), and Ha Noi-based Cancer Hospital (two).

Among the national patient tally, 3,462 are domestic cases, including 1,892 cases documented in 30 cities and provinces since April 27, with Bac Giang and Bac Ninh being hit hardest.

The nation is placing 129,502 people under quarantine and medical surveillance to prevent spread of the virus to the communities./.
