This is the first tour of its kind carried out by the Việt Nam Buddhist Sangha abroad, with the participation of monks and Buddhist followers.

Before the trip, leaders of the Việt Nam Buddhist Sangha organized a press conference, stressing that, apart from the main purpose of popularizing Buddhist faith, the tour was also aimed at highlighting Việt Nam’s traditional cultural identities, encouraging the gratefulness to ancestors among the overseas Vietnamese community, and creating an opportunity to expand relations with international Buddhist organizations.

According to the schedule, the delegation will visit Trúc Lâm Pagoda in Paris, hold a ritual to place President Hồ Chí Minh’s statue in Czech, and attend the inauguration of Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda in Prague.

The delegation will also pay a working visit to the Buddhist Center and Thiên Việt Pagoda (Poland), Buddhist College (Hungary), meet with the Buddhist Associations of Kyiv and Kharkov (Ukraine), organize a ceremony to confer the member status to some Buddhist Associations, give lectures and appoint the chief monk of Trúc Lâm Pagoda in Kharkov.
