Utilizing Industry 4.0 to convert VN into developed country

VGP – In the context of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), with appropriate policies, Viet Nam would be able to seize opportunities to become a developed country, said Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh.

Mr. Binh made the point at the ongoing Industry 4.0 Summit 2019 themed 'Digital Viet Nam: Accelerating digital transformation toward sustainable development.' The event was held by the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission and several ministries and sectors.

According to Mr. Binh, digital economy has been formulated, developed, and become an important component of the economy. Viet Nam ranked third in ASEAN in digital economic scale. So far, digital technology has been applied in industry, agriculture, and service. 

Viet Nam is determined to promoting scientific and technological developments, innovation in all sectors; pushing up national digital transformation which focuses on digital economy, building of smart urban areas, e-government, towards government number. 

The seminar series focuses on five main topics, namely smart banking, smart city, smart production, smart energy and digital economy.

At the forum, an exhibition will take place with 80 booths from domestic and foreign companies, showing technologies of four areas including finance-banking, production, energy and smart cities. It’s expected to help businesses learn and seek opportunities for co-operation and investment in Viet Nam.

The organizers said there are more than 40 countries and territories, including developing countries, that have issued strategies and action program relevant to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In Viet Nam, the Politburo has also worked to upgrade the digital capacities for a powerful 4.0 transformation./.
