US Under secretary of State to visit VN

VGP - Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security for the US State Department Rose Gottemoeller, will visit Viet Nam as part of her tour to four Asian-Pacific countries from February 27-March 9.

Accordingly, she will travel to the central  province of Quang Tri on March 1 and 2 to observe US-funded efforts to survey and clear Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) left over from the US war.
 
She will also meet with provincial authorities as well as non-governmental organization representatives.
 
The Under Secretary will travel to Ha Noi on March 3 to discuss the US-Viet Nam bilateral relationship during the 20th anniversary of normalised relations, as well as regional security, security cooperation, maritime security, and the upcoming NPT RevCon with her Vietnamese counterparts.
 
The four countries of her tour are the Philippines, Viet Nam, Australia and New Zealand, according to the US Department of State.
