Two new universities to make debut

VGP – The PM has just decided to upgrade the Hồ Chí Minh City College of Food Industries to a university and establish the Information Technology and Communications University.

The new school-year 2009-2010 opens at the Hồ Chí Minh City College of Food Industries
The Hồ Chí Minh City College of Food Industries, administered by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is a State-run training center which can train over 14,000 students per year.

The college is offering training courses in 20 specialties, including IT; Electrical engineering; Electronic engineering; Thermal-refrigeration technology; Electro-mechanics; Machinery manufacturing; Chemical technology; Chemical analysis; Food technology; Cooking technique; Seafood processing technology; Bio-technology; Environmental engineering; Clothing technology; Fashion design; Footwear technology; Tour guide; Accounting; Business administration; and Plastic chemical technology.

The Government chief also agreed on the establishment of the Information Technology and Communications University from the Faculty of Information Technology of the Thái Nguyên University.
