Two more COVID-19 infection cases confirmed, patient tally rises to 257

VGP – The Ministry of Health has confirmed two more COVID-19 infection cases, raising the patient tally to 257.

Patient 256 is a 52-year old man residing in Van Lam District of the northern province of Hung Yen.

He landed in Ha Noi on March 27 on flight SU290 from Russia and was immediately taken to a centralized quarantine camp in Vinh Phuc Province.

The patient is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 257 is a 15-year old female pupil from Ha Noi’s Me Linh District and has stayed at home due to closure of schools.

On March 20, his father’s friend came to visit her family. The friend was then confirmed having the virus, becoming the patient numbered 243 in Viet Nam.

On April 8, the girl got fever and runny nose and is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Of the total infection cases in Viet Nam, 144 have been cleared of the virus and released from hospitals.

The current active cases include 69 patients aged between 40 and 60 and 20 patients aged above 60, according to Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son.

The current cases include two patients in critical conditions, said Son./.
