Viet Nam’s tuna has been shipped to 87 markets in the world.
Viet Nam catches 200,000-500,000 tons of tuna annually and export value from the fish always accounts for 35% of the nation’s total fishery export.

In 2011, Viet Nam raked in over US $379.3 million from tuna exports, or 29.4% higher than in 2010.

Viet Nam’s tuna has been shipped to 87 markets in the world, with three biggest markets being the US, the EU and Japan.

In July 2012, export value of tuna hit US $57.3 million, surging 126.8% from the same period last year, bringing the seven-month export value to US $343.3 million, up 48.2%.

Viet Nam expects to make a two-fold increase year on year in export turnover of tuna in 2012.
