Trans-Indochina tourism promoted

VGP - The 4th International Tourism Expo 2008 (ITE HCMC) in Hồ Chí Minh City is a platform for travel enterprises, hoteliers, and destination operators to seek for and establish long-term partnership towards a sustainable development at regional and international levels.

The ITE HCMC inaugurated

ITE HCMC under the theme “Mesmerizing Charms of Cambodia–Laos–Việt Nam – Three Countries One Destination” is aimed at bringing into play the geo-cultural similarities and long lasting friendships among Indochinese peoples. Through the event, the Organizing Committee expects to introduce tourist potentialities and strength of each country to international visitors.

The expo attracted 180 organizations and agencies from 13 countries, including Australia, Cambodia, Republic of Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, China and India, and many Vietnamese businesses from 18 provinces.

According to the Organizing Committee, ITE HCMC is a platform for travel enterprises, hoteliers, and destination operators to seek for and establish long-term partnership towards a sustainable development at regional and international levels.

The event consists of conferences and seminars in the exhibition, notably “Exploiting and developing ethnic tourism in Việt Nam, Laos and Cambodia” and the ASEM Tourism Forum “Strengthening the Asia-Europe partnership for stable tourist development”.

The opening ceremony of ITE HCMC on September 15 was attended by the Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Czech Deputy PM-Minister of Regional Development, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, Minister-Chairman of the Lao National Tourism Administration, representatives of foreign embassies and many Vietnamese agencies.
