Top legislator meets with Polish President

VGP – As part of his official visit to Poland, Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Sinh Hung met with President Bronislaw Komorowski on Friday.

The top legislator affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to expanding traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Poland.

He expressed his hope that the two countries would effectively boost linkages in various fields like politics, economics, national defense and security, culture, education among others.

Polish side was asked to support Viet Nam to beef up ties with the European Union (EU), especially in trade and economic areas and urge the EU to recognize Viet Nam’s market economy status soon.

Viet Nam will create favorable conditions for Polish investors to do business in the country, stressed NA Chairman Hung.

President Bronislaw Komorowski suggests both sides should maintain regular exchange of high-ranking delegations in order to strengthen the bilateral ties.

NA Chairman Hung is on official visits to Russia, Germany and Poland from March 9-17. The visits are being made at the invitation of Chairwoman of the Federation Council (Upper House) of Russia’s Federal Assembly Valentina Matviyenko, President of the German Parliament Norbert Lammert, and Speaker of the Lower House of the Polish Parliament Ewa Kopacz.-VNA
