The Viet Nam National University - Ha Noi

The Vietnamese institutions are the Viet Nam National University - Ha Noi (VNU), the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology (HUST), and the Viet Nam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM).

Specifically, VNU is ranked between 251st and 300th, HUST between 351st and 400th, and VNUHCM between 401st and 500th.

The rankings use the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings to judge institutions on their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

However, they have different weightings to reflect the development priorities of universities in emerging economies.

Overall, there are 606 universities in the ranking this year, up from 533 in 2020, and 48 territories are represented, one more than last year.

2020 was the first year when the three aforementioned Vietnamese universities made their appearance in the THE Emerging Economies University Rankings.

This recognized the efforts made by the domestic higher education system although Viet Nam is categorized in the “Frontier” group (as classified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group)./.
