Thermoelectricity Plant Mạo Khê 2 Project approved

VNGOVNet – Upon the proposal of the Ministry of Industry, the PM has just permitted the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) to realize the investment project on Thermoelectricity Plant Mạo Khê 2 in Quảng Ninh Province.

Accordingly, the PM assigned Vinacomin to adjust the Project to build a 440-MW plant of two turbine groups of 220 MW each. Turbine group 1 will be put into operation in early 2010, group 2 by late 2010.

Vinacomin was also entrusted to clarify condition of preferential credits and negotiate with the Polish partners about the Project’s technical, financial, and commercial conditions. Vinacomin will negotiate and sign an electricity purchase contract with the Vietnam Electricity Group before starting the construction.
