Thai Nguyen: Industrial production booms

VGP – The northern province of Thai Nguyen took the lead in industrial production index in eight months, posting a 193.6 percent surge on year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

The MoIT reported that the country's index of industrial production (IIP) in August saw an increase of 9% over the same period in 2014.

In January-August, IPP witnessed a 9.9% year-on-year increase.

Accordingly, processing and manufacturing increased by 10.4%; the mining sector 8%, electricity manufacturing and distribution 11.4%, water and sewage treatment 6.9%.

Localities recording high IIP, apart from Thai Nguyen, are Quang Nam with 34.8%, Hai Phong with 14.8%, Da Nang with 13.2%, and Hai Duong with 10%.

Consumption index of the processing and manufacturing industry rose by 13.3%, contributing to industrial expansion in the coming time./.
