The State President hailed the province for obtaining a GDP growth rate of 10.7%, which is higher than the country’s average.

In 2009, despite difficulties in export, Tây Ninh has managed to expand the domestic market for its agro-products. The province has also established several industrial parks, including Borbon-An Hòa and Phước Đông Bời Lời, bettered health and education services, guaranteed social security, and reduced poverty rate to 5.2% (half of the country’s average).

However, the President stressed that underdeveloped industry sector and poor transport infrastructure remain weak points of Tây Ninh.

In order to restructure its economy toward industry and service, according to President Triết, Tây Ninh should map out more open policies, speed up administrative reforms and create more favorable conditions for investors, especially in the post-crisis period.

The province should upgrade its transport infrastructure to boost up socio-economic development, stated the President, noting that training a qualified labor force is also an urgent mission of economic integration and development.
