Sweden helps Vietnamese children in cancer treatment

VGP - A team of four professors and 22 students from the Center for Cancer Study, Lund University (Sweden), are working with the Việt Nam National Hospital of Pediatrics to do research into cancer treatment for Vietnamese children, especially in the North.

Many Swedish students have been sent to practice in Việt Nam

It is a part of the program on enhancing cancer treatment for children, sponsored by international home product retailer IKEA, from 2008 to 2013.

Accordingly, doctors and nursing members of the Lund University will examine and treat children in Hà Nội and some other Northern provinces.

Besides, a score of Vietnamese doctors and nursing members will be trained in Sweden with the help of the Lund University.

In addition, a forum is scheduled to be held in March for sharing experience of treatment.

Lund also plans to dispatch its students to do their probation at Vietnamese hospitals in the future.
