State President receives Singaporean, Egyptian Ambassadors

At the meeting with the Singaporean Ambassador, the State President lauded her role in deepening the two countries' strategic partnership, adding that the maintenance of high-level delegation exchanges and visits has created a foundation for their closeness.

He expressed thanks to Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong for his assistance for Viet Nam to have a successful APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in 2017, proposing the two sides tighten coordination for development and prosperity.

Viet Nam advocates for Singapore fulfilling its role as Chair of ASEAN 2018 to increase intra-bloc cooperation, promote solidarity and unity  and increase the central role of ASEAN, he affirmed.

Ambassador Ping congratulated Viet Nam on its achievements in 2017, expecting the country will maintain growth in 2018.

The same day, State President Tran Dai Quang hailed the contributions of Egyptian Ambassador Youssef Kamal Boutros Hana to fostering the friendship and partnership between Viet Nam and Egypt.

Viet Nam values the role of Egypt in the region and international organizations such as the United Nations, the African Union and the Non-Aligned Movement, said Mr. Quang, adding that Viet Nam hopes that Egypt will successfully hold its upcoming presidential election.

This year, Viet Nam and Egypt will celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, he said, suggesting that the two sides increase delegation exchanges and meetings between businesses, thus promoting investment and trade and tourism, while fostering people-to-people contacts.

He underlined the strong cooperation potential between the two sides, stressing that both countries should promote cooperation in all fields, thus lifting bilateral ties to a new height, accounting the two-way trade reached US$350 million in 2017.

For his part, Ambassador Youssef Kamal Boutros Hana thanked the Vietnamese side for supporting him in completing his tasks during his tenure in Viet Nam.

He said that the visit to Viet Nam by President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in September 2017 was an important milestone in Viet Nam-Egypt relations, hoping to welcome State President Tran Dai Quang to visit Egypt in the upcoming time.
