Sri Lankan woman among 100 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 100 new COVID-19 cases on Monday evening, raising total cases on Monday to 8,983.

The latest patients include 25 imported cases and 75 domestic infections, said the ministry.

Among the imported cases, one is a 26-year-old Sri Lankan woman who flew from Qatar to Ho Chi Minh City on May 22 while all the other are Vietnamese returnees repatriated from France (one) and returning home via a border gate in the southern province of Tay Ninh (three).

Meanwhile, the domestic cases are residents of Bac Giang (30), Bac Ninh (23), Ho Chi Minh City (20), Binh Duong (one), and National Cancer Hospital (one).

The same day, 141 patients were discharged from hospitals, brining the total recoveries to 3,509.

The death toll stood at 53./.
