Answering the question about the purpose of the visit, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh revealed that Mr. Le Hong Anh, as a special envoy of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, will seek exchanges with Chinese leaders about measures to smooth the recent tensions and prevent their reoccurrence.

His visit also aims to accelerate the two Parties and the two countries’ relations to meet the expectation and benefits of two nations’ people, Binh said.

Answering the media’s questions about the country's settlement of impacts of the disturbances occurring at several foreign businesses, including those from China, in May, Mr. Binh said Viet Nam felt regret about the incidents over foreign investors, including Chinese businesses and workers in May, as well as Chinese deaths and injuries during the case.

Viet Nam will provide humanitarian aid for the Chinese victims, he said, adding that the Viet Nam-China Friendship Association will visit China to send sympathy and console the bereaved.

The Vietnamese side will continue to implement the Government’s policies and measures to help these enterprises overcome difficulties, reduce loses and re-operate.

Viet Nam has been investigating the case and strictly dealt with law-violators while taking necessary measures to ensure safety and security for Chinese businesspeople and workers, as well as other foreign businesses in the country, he added.
