Son La hydro-power plant’s last turbine connected to grid

VGP – Viet Nam’s largest hydro-power plant in the Northern province of Son La officially connected its last turbine with a capacity of 400MW to the national grid.

The six-turbine power plant which has total investment capital of US$1.8 billion is expected to supply some 10.246 billion kWh of electricity a year.

The construction began in 2005 with the first turbine coming into operation on December 17, 2010. The plant was completed three years ahead of schedule.

So far, the plant provided 11.050 billion KWh to the national grid./.
