Site clearance promoted for National Road Packages 48-2 and 48-3

VNGOVNet – Considering the Ministry of Transport (MT)’s report on the post-checking realization of Road Network Renovating and Upgrading Project (Project WB4) and so as to ensure its schedule, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng requested the People’s Committee of Nghệ An Province to direct the province’s relevant agencies to promptly finish the site clearance for National Roads 48-2 and 48-3, which is a part of Project WB4.

As requested by the PM, the MT will act as the main implementer in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, the State Bank of Vietnam and the related agencies in working with the World Bank to solve difficulties that have arisen during the implementation of Project WB4 in accordance with current regulations; ensure the Project’s schedule, quality and effectiveness; as well as report to the PM any problems that are beyond their competence.

Project WB4 is a transport project granted with an ever largest loan by the World Bank. The Project consists of three components with the total investment of around US$ 304.9 million, including US$ 225.2 million as the WB loan and US$ 79.7 million as Vietnam’s corresponding capital. Under the Project, approximately 2,000 km of roads nationwide will be maintained, 554 km of 15 national roads crossing 14 Northern provinces (from Quảng Bình northwards) upgraded, the Vietnam Road Department strengthened, and the Road Foundation established.
