Shrimps exports to Europe rocket

VGP – Viet Nam’s shrimp exports to Europe rocketed in August and September this year, according to the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

The nation gained US$2.5 billion from exporting shrimps over the recent nine months of 2017, a year-on-year increase of 21.9%.

Shrimps exports to the European market witnessed an increase of 32% against the same period last year.

Especially, shrimps exports to the United Kingdom and the Netherlands saw respective increases of 46% and 47%.

Viet Nam’s shrimp exports in the first half of this year rose 15.7% year-on-year to US$1.56 billion.

VASEP forecast that Viet Nam’s shrimp export would reach $3.4 billion this year, up 9% against last year, thanks to rising demand during the New Year and Christmas celebrations.
