Russian President V. Putin to visit Vietnam

This will have been the second visit to Vietnam by the Russian leader over the last five years.

President Putin’s visit comes in the context that Vietnam is well on course of realizing its foreign policy of diversified and multilateral relations in line with the Resolution of the 10^th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, actively involving itself in regional and international integration, organizing the 14^th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and welcoming some of the APEC leaders on their separate official visits to Vietnam.

The Vietnam-Russia relation has been strengthening and expanding on the basis of strategic partnership, sustainable and long-term cooperation, equality and mutual benefit, as established by the two sides during the first visit to Vietnam by the Russian President in 2001.
