Addressing the function, Romanian Ambassador to Viet Nam Valeriu Arteni said based on their historical similarities, the Romanian and Vietnamese people are getting closer and joining hands in boosting the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two nations.

He highly valued the support and assistance extended by the two governments to the Vietnamese community in Romania and the Romanian community in Viet Nam in their daily living and business, thus contributing to building a bridge to promote trade and investment ties and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Chairman of the Viet Nam-Romania Friendship Association Tong Van Nga praised Romania’s growth to become a modern country that actively integrates in European and global structures for peace and stability in the world.

Nga highly valued the support and assistance extended by the two governments to the Vietnamese community in Romania and the Romanian community in Viet Nam in their daily living and business, thus contributing to building a bridge to promote trade and investment ties and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

He expected that the relations between the two countries and their people will further develop in the coming time.

He said despite the fact that Viet Nam and Romania have witnessed the bilateral ties expanding across fields, their economic-trade cooperation still falls short of potential, with bilateral trade reaching just above US$ 200 million in 2017.

The two countries officially set up diplomatic relations in February 1950.
