The US $150,000-program is sponsored by SK Telecom in coordination with the Semin Facial Deformation Help Community of the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Việt Nam's Defense Ministry's Hospital 108.

The program targets to make children with facial deformities have cheerful faces and good health.

The operations are being performed by 25 doctors and nurses from the RoK and all surgical equipment and medicines are sponsored by the Northeast Asian country.

It is said that this is the 14th consecutive year when SK Telecom finances the program in Việt Nam where around 3,000 children with facial deformities have been operated.

After their fellows in Hà Nội, Huế, Hồ Chí Minh City, Thái Nguyên, Bắc Cạn, Bắc Ninh, Nam Định, and Nghệ An, children in Thanh Hóa can now benefit from the program. So far, about 100 kids born with cleft palate, cleft lip and dropping eyelids in the province have enjoyed orthopedic surgery.
