Restoring traditional handicraft villages

VGP – The Government will maintain, restore and develop traditional handicrafts via different measures on advertisement, tax, and vocational training.

According to the Government’s Decree 98/2010/NĐ-CP on maintenance, restoration and development of traditional handicrafts, the Government will conduct nationwide surveys to classify traditional handicrafts and back their preservation and restoration. In addition, traditional materials will be exploited and used.

The State will apply policies which encourage the use of traditional methods and techniques, even levying preferential tax on handmade products.

Việt Nam has over 2,000 traditional craft villages nationwide of which each reflects cultural identities and serves as a ground for economic growth in rural areas.
