In 2008, the renovation of public finance management has been further sped up in Việt Nam. Under a report given by the Ministry of Finance (MoF), all projects on public spending management have been implemented on schedule. Especially, the first and second components of the WB-funded Project on Public Finance Management Reform were completed; mid-term financial and expenditure plans mapped out; and funds and budgets managed more effectively.
In the area of receipts management, detailed plans to reform the tax system by 2010 have been put into reality.
Concerning the price management, the MoF revealed that the policies on price assessment have been completed and introduced.
MoF Deputy Minister Trần Xuân Hà expressed his gratitude to international sponsors for their assistance to the financial sector over the last time. He also hoped to receive more attention and supports to effectively tackle the current global financial crisis and carry out the national economic integration.
