Proper regime required for to boost economic and trade ties with Indonesia

Accordingly, the Ministry of Trade was assigned to collaborate with the relevant ministries, sectors, associations and industries to implement the trade cooperation, focusing on agricultural products such as coffee, pepper, rubber, and rice.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment should combine with the Vietnam Gas and Oil Group (PetroVietnam) and Indonesian partners to boost investment activities in gas and oil exploitation. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was ordered to revise the Memorandum of Understanding on agricultural cooperation inked with Indonesia in 1992.

The Deputy PM entrusted the Ministry of Fisheries to cooperate with other competent agencies and the Indonesian counterparts to realize the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2003 and fix the mechanism to deal with Vietnamese fishermen and ships that have been seized in Indonesian territorial waters.

The Ministry of Education and Training should work with the Indonesia partners to exchange scholarships for Vietnamese and Indonesian students.

The Ministry of Industry was assgined to discuss with the Indonesia side to share experience in developing small and medium industries, especially footwear, textile and fine-art products.

The ministries of Trasport, Health, Posts and Telematics, State Bank of Vientam, and the General Administration for Tourism were asked to accelerate cooperation projects as mentioned in the agreements signed by the two countries.
