Project aims to help minority and mountain people in production expansion

VNGOVNet – The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has issued Ordinance 01/2007/TT-BNN instructing the implementation of the support project for production development, economic restructuring and improving production skills of ethnic minorities and people in mountain areas under Program 135, period 2006-2010.

The support will cover extension of agriculture, forestry, fishery and industry; establishment and dissemination of production models; provision of plant varieties, young animals, and production materials to poor households; and delivery of processing machinery and tools and post-harvest storing facilities.

The Ordinance also clearly defines functions and obligations of the MARD-administered Department for Cooperatives and Rural Development and People’s Committees at various echelons in the fruitful realization of the Support Project in their localities.
