PM requires more efforts to fight smuggling and trade frauds

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has requested his inferiors to take action to combat smuggling, counterfeiting and trade frauds, particularly in the period before the Lunar New Year festival.

Under the Official Telegraph No. 01/CĐ-TTg signed on January 1, the PM instructed the Anti-Smuggling Steering Committee, relevant ministries, agencies, and municipal and provincial People’s Committees to strengthen investigations and to early expose trade frauds, smuggling, as well as counterfeits.

The Government leader also stressed the importance of tightening the check-up at border gates, international sea ports, and border areas to prevent all illegal activities. 

In addition, competent agencies were assigned to set up plans to fight those making counterfeits, particularly the primary goods like agricultural materials, pharmacy, food, and other produces subjected to special consumption taxes such as wine, beer, and cigarettes.

Regulations on quality, prices and food safety are also strengthened, according to the telegraph./.
