PM receives Samsung Electronics VN General Director

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed Samsung Electronics Viet Nam to expand investment in Viet Nam not only in electronics but also other advantageous areas such as energy, harbor infrastructure, science and technology and health.

The PM made that statement at his reception for General Director of Samsung Electronics Viet Nam Han Myoung-sup on May 16 in Ha Noi.

The PM proposed Samsung Electronics Viet Nam develop the auxiliary industry in Viet Nam, expecting that the corporation will train and transfer technology to facilitate local auxiliary businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

He hoped that the group will accelerate the implementation of a Research and Development Center plan in Viet Nam.

Affirming the importance of the Foreign Direct Investment to Viet Nam’s economy, PM Phuc said that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Samsung Electronics Viet Nam to make Viet Nam the world’s largest mobile production center.

The PM expressed his hope that Samsung will develop sustainably to boost exports and make realistic contribution to the multi-faceted relations between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea.  

In the second quarter of 2017, Samsung Electronics Viet Nam expects to gain US$11 billion from exporting, said Mr. Han Myoung-sup, adding that the corporation’s revenue may reach US$ 60 billion, including US$50 billion from exports.

He hoped that the Vietnamese Government, ministries and functional agencies will facilitate Samsung Electronics VietNam and Samsung Display Viet Nam in particular in the future.

A total number of 107,000 Vietnamese workers are working in factories of Samsung Electronics Viet Nam.
