PM receives Myanmar’s guest

VGP – The Vietnamese Government is sparing no effort to work with the Government of Myanmar to cement and deepen the bilateral ties for the sake of development in each country, said PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.

The Government chief made the statement on December 7 in Hà Nội, while hosting a reception to Myanmar’s Minister of Religious Affairs Thura Myint Maung who is leading a delegation to visit Việt Nam.

According to the host leader, sharing numerous cultural similarities, Việt Nam and Myanmar are witnessing their traditional and friendly relations flourishing well.

PM Dũng lauded the outcomes of the previous talks which led to the signing a cooperative agreement between the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) under the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs and Myanmar’s Ministry of Religious Affairs. 

The guest took this occasion to brief PM Dũng about socio-economic realities in Myanmar and express his aspiration to foster ties with Vietnamese partners in the areas of agriculture, aquaculture and fisheries, and hydroelectricity. 

Myanmar is willing to receive Vietnamese scholars to do research on Buddhism and Zen techniques, said Minister Thura Myint Maung.
