PM ratifies foreign-funded projects

VGP – The Government chief recently approved aid agreements on tourism, eco-diversity and water supply, respectively sponsored by the European Union (EU), the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank (WB).

The PM assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to sign the financial agreement for the Environmentally Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Program worth of €11 million.

The project aims to introduce responsible tourism principles into Việt Nam’s tourism sector to enhance competitiveness, promote environmentally and socially responsible tourist services.

It is reported that this is one of three priority programs under the Annual Action Plan so far committed by the European Commission for Việt Nam. 

The PM agreed with the contents of a GTZ-sponsored project to preserve biodiversity of forest ecosystems in Việt Nam.

Two projects on water supply in urban and rural areas funded by the ADB and the WB were also approved./.
