PM okays to supplement provincial road upgrading project

VNGOVNet – The PM has just delivered his opinions on additional expense and readjusted schedule to realize the technical design and building supervision contracts as part of the Provincial Roads Upgrading Project using loans from the Asia Development Bank (ADB). Accordingly, the PM agreed in principle the additional work volume of the above-mentioned bidding package.

The Ministry of Transport was entrusted to decide and be responsible for this supplementation. The total expense must not exceed the approved total investment. The implementation of the contracts will last to December 31, 2008.

The ADB-funded Provincial Roads Upgrading Project in which PMU5 (Ministry of Transport) is the investor, aims to upgrade 72 provincial roads with a total length of 1,181 km in 18 northern provinces. The Project’s readjusted investment capital is US$ 114.19 million including US$ 80 million as loans from ADB and US$ 34.19 million as the corresponding capital.
