PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng okeys POSCO's cold- and hot-rolled steel project and building SP-PSA International Port

VNGOVNet – On November 9, having considered the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Prime Minister approved a project to build a Cold and Hot Rolled Steel Mill by the South Korean group POSCO in the Industrial Park Phú Mỹ II, Tân Thành District, and another project to build an international port by the SP-PSA joint venture between the Sài Gòn Port (Vietnam) and PSA Vietnam Pte.Ltd (Singapore), in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province.

The PM assigned the Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu People’s Committee to coordinate with the relevant ministries in directing the investors to carry out all investment formalities necessary for the establishment of the POSCO steel mill; to work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment as well as the concerned ministries in handling matters concerning the licensing of the SP-PSA International Port project (stage 1); and manage the implementation of these projects.

 

 On the same day, at the request of the Cao Bằng Provincial People’s Committee, the PM agreed to the construction of Bridge Tà Lùng II in the province's Phục Hòa District. He asked the People’s Committee to coordinate with the ministries of Planning and Investment, Transport, and Foreign Affairs, and other relevant bodies in working with the Chinese authorities to carry out the project.
