The Government chief made the point on early December 4 while meeting with local voters of Kien An district, Hai Phong city.

Many voters expressed their delight to witness the socio-economic performance in 2017. They also commented on the drastic management and regulations of the Government.

However, some of them expressed concerns about shortcomings in the social security policies, and such pressing issues as vocational training, job generation, and child abuse.

In response to voters’ concern, PM Phuc stressed that the Government committed to accomplishing its duties, especially surmounting natural disaster consequence and taking care of the poor, the disabilities, and the elderly.

According to PM Phuc, despite positive income per capita with about US$ 3,500 on average (higher than the national average rate of US$ 2,400), Hai Phong's indicator is still below that in other developed countries. He stressed Hai Phong should make more efforts to raise the indicator.

Especially, the Government chief reiterated that the local authorities bear the great responsibility if they let local people to suffer from hunger. State resources must always be given to the remote, far-reaching, and disaster-hit areas, he said./.
