PM meets regional leaders on ASEAN-India summit sidelines

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha

At their meeting, PM Phuc and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, the Vietnamese government leader suggested the two sides accelerate the organisation of their joint committee on bilateral cooperation’s third meeting and the joint Cabinet retreat this year.

He repeated the invitation to Prayut Chan-ocha to attend the sixth Summit of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) and the GMS Business Forum set for March in Ha Noi to share stance on the region’s development.

Meeting Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, PM Phuc expressed his hope to soon welcome her in Viet Nam and co-chair the ninth meeting of the joint committee on bilateral cooperation.

Aung San Suu Kyi said she will conveyed Phuc’s invitation to the sixth Summit of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) and the GMS Business Forum to Myanmar leaders.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong

Meeting with his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong agreed to implement a host of activities celebrating the 45th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2018.

The two sides reached a consensus on considering the opening of air routes linking Singapore with Viet Nam’s Da Lat and Nha Trang resort cities as well as the increase of frequency of existing flights, and speeding up negotiations on a labour agreement.

The PM told Lee that he will attend the 32nd ASEAN Summit slated to be held in Singapore.
