PM hosts outgoing Venezuelan Ambassador

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked Venezuelan Ambassador to Viet Nam Jorge Rondon Uzcategui for his active contributions to the development of the friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries over the past nearly 14 years.

The PM made the remark while hosting a reception for the outgoing diplomat in Ha Noi on November 19, during which he affirmed that Viet Nam always attaches importance to solidifying ties with Venezuela.

The leader voiced his belief that the ambassador would continue to be a bridge connecting the two nations and further contribute to enhancing the fine relations between Viet Nam and Venezuela.

In late January 2006, Uzcategui was the first Venezuelan ambassador who came to Viet Nam with the mission of opening Venezuela’s embassy in the Southeast Asian country, marking a new page in bilateral ties. Serving as the dean of the diplomatic corps since 2016, he has actively contributed to strengthening exchange and understanding between the diplomatic corps and the Vietnamese people.

Speaking at the meeting, Uzcategui expressed his gratitude for Viet Nam’s support for Venezuela, stating that his country would continue to accelerate cooperation projects with Viet Nam in the areas of mutual concern, including oil & gas and agriculture.

In recognition of the Venezuelan diplomat’s achievements, the Vietnamese State decided to present him with the Friendship Order, a noble award for a foreign individual who has made significant contributions to the friendly relations and cooperation with Viet Nam and countries.
