PM hosts national reception for IPU delegates

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on March 31 chaired a national reception for delegates joining the 132nd Inter-Parliament Union (IPU-132) Assembly in Ha Noi.

Speaking at the event, the PM asserted that the organization of the IPU-132, a crucial diplomatic event, has shown Viet Nam’s consistent, independent, self-control, peaceful and cooperative diplomatic policy.

When the Declaration of the IPU and other crucial resolutions are approved in Ha Noi, the IPU will contribute to establishing the United Nations global development agenda for the post-2015 period, he added.

Viet Nam is focusing on completing and launching regulations of a dynamic market economy effectively and deeply integrating into the world’s economy, he confirmed.

He asked for responsibility, cooperation and efforts from all the nations around the world to cope with threats on armed and territorial conflicts, including disputes in the East Sea, terrorists and challenges on climate change, diseases and food security.

To maintain peace, stability, security and safety, each nation needs to respect the sovereignty and benefits of other countries as well as concerns about joint issues and benefits in the region and in the world, PM Dung initiated.

The PM proposed parliaments and their members join hands to launch effectively the IPU’s Declaration in Ha Noi for the peace, friendship, cooperation and sustainable development.
