The Vietnamese Government is working to speed up the administrative procedure reform; attract foreign investment, FDI; prioritize high-tech projects; and boost economic growth, said the host leader.

PM Phuc hoped that Professor Ricardo Hausmann would support Viet Nam and serve as a bridge for more foreign investors to set footholds in Viet Nam in favour of national socio-economic development.

For his part, Professor Ricardo Hausmann expressed his impression of Viet Nam’s spectacular socio-economic achievements, including robust export growth rate, remarkable poverty reduction, narrowed gap among the rich and poor; and settlement of social inequality.

According to Mr.  Ricardo Hausmann, Viet Nam has transformed from a low-income country to medium-income one and is facing medium-income trap. He advised learning experience from Japan to avoid the trap.

He also suggested Viet Nam diversify exports; generate high added value; and control public debts./.
