PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng acknowledged that Việt Nam’s achievements over the past time were partly resulted from the efforts made by the diplomat service.

"Where an Ambassador shows his active role, the bilateral cooperation between Việt Nam and the host country flourish in all fields," remarked the Government chief.

Emphasizing the significance of the year 2010 when Việt Nam assumes the Presidency of ASEAN, PM Dũng stated that the Ambassadors will undertake heavy responsibilities in heightening the country’s status and boosting its cooperation with other countries.

He expressed his desire that, in the time to come, the diplomats pay due attention to perfecting Việt Nam’s diplomacy strategy with three pillars – politics, economics and culture – in order to deepen mutual understanding and trust in bilateral and multilateral ties between Việt Nam and the rest of the world.

The Ambassadors should also attach importance to promoting cooperation with other countries in economics, trade, investment, tourism, service, education, healthcare and environment protection; showcasing images of a friendly and hospitable Việt Nam; and protecting legitimate interests of Vietnamese nationals in other countries, concluded PM Dũng.
